The Unisys Security IndexTM presents a social indicator regarding how safe consumers feel on key areas of security.

Conducted twice a year, the Index provides a regular, statistically robust measure of concerns about four areas of security:
  • National security
  • Financial security
  • Internet security
  • Personal security
  • Brazilians clearly prefer fingerprint scans (79%) or eye scans (74%) over other methods of authenticating themselves with government and financial institutions
  • 57% of Brazilians are seriously concerned about the risk of a health epidemic
  • Misuse of credit and debit card information is the top security concern among Brazilians

What's new in the report

Brazilians are showing significant reductions in security concern across all four underlying indices, with many showing lower scores. However, the resulting overall index of 153 does still indicate that Brazilians remain significantly concerned about security threats, especially in the areas of credit & debit card fraud, health epidemics, and the ability of governments and financial institutions to keep their personal information secure and private.
