The Unisys Security IndexTM presents a social indicator regarding how safe consumers feel on key areas of security.

Conducted twice a year, the Index provides a regular, statistically robust measure of concerns about four areas of security:

  • Financial security
  • Internet security
  • Personal security
  • The top two security concerns for Australians are both identity fraud related: Other people accessing credit/debit card data; and loss or misuse of personal information
  • Almost 70% of Australians are happy to use biometrics, including fingerprints and iris scans, to prove their identity
  • 1 in 3 Australians are seriously concerned about the ability of governments and financial service providers to protect their personal data
