What's new in the report

With the economy improving, the concerns of the U.S. public shifted from financial security to national security concerns such as the war on terrorism and the risk of health epidemics. Financial security, which was the most important concern in March 2009, dropped behind national security as the public’s greatest concern. Americans also remain seriously concerned about the security and privacy of their personal information. Data security and identity theft – including unauthorized use of personal information and credit/debit card details – remain top concerns for Americans. The majority of Americans (58%) said they are ready to use biometrics for identity verification.
